Rural Medicine Education Symposium: The Rural Impact 2024

The University of Mississippi School of Medicine will host the third statewide Rural Medicine Education Symposium ‘The Rural Impact 2024.’ on February 9-11, 2024 at The Westin in downtown Jackson. Physician educators contribute to improving the health of the public by delivering patient care and developing excellent and comprehensive educational programs along the continuum of medical education, including medical students, residents, fellows, and independently practicing physicians. Through this symposium, we will provide a forum to exchange best practices for the various medical educational programs statewide and topics that affect rural care nationally. The Rural Impact 2024 event is set to offer an array of engaging activities. Attendees can look forward to a scholarship ceremony, a research poster session, thought-provoking presentations, insightful panel discussions, and a Residency Fair. Physicians, administrators, educators, and trainees will be able to:
- Evaluate features of the continuum of rural medical education specifically in Mississippi.
- Define specific topics of patient care.
